Carnival day

This week is Carnival, and all the students are excited of what they are going to find in the school during these days. In the English classes, they are going to do a drama, all of them will be the animals in a farm and they will have to do daily actions while they will be listening to a video telling a story and a song. They will be able to dress whatever they want, related to their character. 

"Aquesta setmana és el Carnaval, tots els estudiants estan excitats pel que els espera a l'escola durant aquesta setmana. A les clases d'anglès, ells hauran de representar un teatre, i tots ells seran animals a una granja i hauran de fer accions diàries a l'hora que estan escoltant un vídeos que explica un conte i una cançó. Ells hauran de vestir-se amb el que vulguin relacionat amb el seu personatge. 

Valentine's day

Saint Valentine's day is also known as Valentine's day and is celebrated on February 14 each year in many countries around the world. The day is associated with romantic love, the couples often give each other some presents like letters, rouses, poems, etc. 

"El dia de Sant Valentí és també conegut com el dia de Valentí i és celebrat el 14 de febrer cada any en molts països al voltant del món. El dia és associat amb l'amor romàntic, les parelles normalment es regalen alguns regals com cartes, roses, poemes, etc".

For this reason, in the English classes we have been preparing during this week some crafts related to this celebration, with a lot of vocabulary and English structures which are used in this day. The pupils wrote in some hearts some expressions and words they learnt about love and, then, they had to stick them in a letter, which they did for their families or friends. 

"Per aquesta raó, a les classes d'anglès hem estat preparant durant aquesta setmana algunes manualitats relacionades amb aquesta celebració, amb molt vocabulari i estructures en anglès les quals són utilitzades en aquest dia. Els alumnes van escriure en alguns cors algunes expressions i paraules que van aprendre sobre l'amor i, després, van haver d'enganxar-les a les cartes, les quals van fer per les famílies o amics".

At the farm

"Old McDonald had a Farm" is the song we are going to sing in the next classes to review all the animals we've studied. They will have to act out the animals, with their own sounds. Let's see what the pupils learn about this chant!

"El vell Mcdonald tenia una granja" és la cançó que cantarem en les classes següents per repassar tots els animals que hem estudiat. Ells hauran de representar els animals, amb els seus sons. Anem a veure que aprenen els nens d'aquesta cantarella!".

Chinese Zodiac

This week we've started the unit of "at the farm". We studied all the animals that live in a farm "sheep, dog, cow, lizard, frog, etc". Tomorrow, on 31th of January, will take place the Chinese New Year, for this reason, the students will learn all the Chinese Zodiac Animals and what animal is related to their year.

"Aquesta setmana hem començat el tema de "a la granja". Hem estudiat tot els animals que viuen a la granja "ovella, gos, vaca, llangardaix, granota, etc". Demà, el dia 31 de Gener, es celebrarà el Nou Any Xinès, per aquesta raó, els estudiants aprendran tot els animals del Zodíac Xinès i quin animal està relacionat amb el seu any".

They are going to study the animals through some games and, then, the English teacher is going to explain them this celebration in China and their Chinese Zodiac Animal, which is a dog.

"Ells estudiaran els animals mitjançant jocs i, després, la mestra d'anglès els explicarà aquesta celebració a Xina i el seu animal del Zodíac Xinès, el qual és el gos".

After listening to the story, they will have to create a craft: a wonderful mask of a dog. Keep an eye on the mask, they will have to colour it! 

"Després d'escoltar la història, els nens crearan una manualitat: una meravellosa màscara d'un gos. Feu-li un cop d'ull a la màscara, ells l'hauran de pintar!".

Trivial pursuit

The last day the students were playing at the game of "trivial pursuit". They were practising all the vocabulary and the important things they learnt during the unit of "Olympic Games". Keep an eye on the die, the board game and the question flashcards. 

"L'últim dia els estudiants van estar jugant al joc del trivial. Ells van estar practicant tot el vocabulari i les coses importants que van aprendre durant la unitat dels Jocs Olímpics. Fes-li un cop d'ull al dau, tauler i les cartes de les preguntes".

The sports

Hello my little students!

In these days we've been practising all the vocabulary related to the sports "basketball, tennis, swimming, skating and football". Moreover, they've been journalists; they had to pass to the other classes asking some questions about the sports: "Do you like football, tennis, basketball, swimming or skating?" "I like football". 

"En aquests dies hem estat practicant tot el vocabulari relacionat amb els esports (bàsquet, tennis, nedar, patinar i fútbol). A més a més, ells han sigut periodistes; han hagut de passar per les altres classes preguntant algunes preguntes sobre els esports: T'agrada el fútbol, tennis, bàsquet, nedar o patinar? M'agrada el fútbol".

With the answers of their classmates, they filled the gaps of this fantastic statistical table. We learnt that everybody prefers football rather than other sports! 

"Amb les respostes dels seus companys/es, van omplir els espais d'aquesta fantàstica taula estadística. Hem après que tothom prefereix el fútbol en comptes d'altres esports!". 

The first day of the year

Today and tomorrow are the first days of the year in the English classes and we have to start with the routine another time! 

"Avui i demà són els primers dies de l'any a les classes d'anglès i hem de començar amb la rutina un altre cop!"

In these two days we're going to correct the homework and we're going to talk in English about the toys they received during their Christmas holidays. They also are going to play some games to review all the vocabulary they learned in the last term, in order to start the new unit with all the vocabulary and grammar.

"En aquests dos dies corregirem els deures i parlarem de les joguines que han rebut durant les seves vacances de Nadal. Ells també jugaran a alguns jocs per repassar tot el vocabulari que van aprendre al trimestre passat, per tal de començar la nova unitat amb el vocabulari i gramàtica."

The new unit is called "The Olympic Games". We're going to learn some vocabulary of five sports in the Olympic Games "Skating, Football, Basketball, Tennis and Swimming" and we're going to put into practice some grammar sentences like "What sport do you play in your free time?", "What is your favourite sport?", "Which sport do you prefer Skating or Football?, and so on. Let's see what the children know about this topic with this fantastic cardboard with the slogan of the Olympic Games!!

"La nova unitat s'anomena (Els Jocs Olímpics). Nosaltres aprendrem vocabulari sobre cinc esports de les Olimpíades (patinatge, fútbol, basket, tennis i natació) i posarem en pràctica noves estructures gramaticals com (Quin esport jugues al teu temps lliure?), (Quin és el teu esport preferit?), (Quin esport prefereixes patinatge o football?), etc. Anem a veure què saben els nens sobre aquest tòpic amb aquesta fantàstica cartolina amb l'eslògan dels Jocs Olímpics."
