Saint George's Day

Saint George's day is the feast day of Saint George and the national day for England. This celebration is well known by the legend of Saint George and the princess, who was rescued for the bad and big dragon. The legend said that from the dragon's blood, beautiful red roses were born and Saint George gave them to the princess. 

El dia de Sant Jordi és la festa de Sant Jordi i el dia nacional per Anglaterra. Aquesta celebració és molt coneguda per la llegenda de Sant Jordi i la princesa, qui va ser rescatada pel dolent i gran drac. La llegenda explica que de la sang del drac, roses vermelles i maques van aparèixer i Sant Jordi les va donar a la princesa. 

Saint George's day is celebrated on 23th April and the legend explains that the men have to give a rose to the women and the women a book to the men. For this reason, in the English classes the students made a craft, they made fantastic red roses for their families!

El dia de Sant Jordi és celebrat el 23 d'abril i la llegenda explica que els homes regalen una rosa a les dones i les dones un llibre als homes. Per aquesta raó, a les classes d'anglès els estudiants van fer una manualitat, ells van realitzar fantàstiques roses vermelles per les seves famílies!

Easter week

This term has been fantastic! The students have learnt a lot of things in English, all together have done a good work. I'm very proud of them; I really know that the next term will be much better!

Aquest trimestre ha sigut fantàstic! Els estudiants han après moltes coses en anglès, tots junts han fet un gran treball. Estic molt orgullosa d'ells, estic segura que el trimestre següent serà molt millor!

The students have homework to carry out during their Easter holidays. They are not compulsory, the same as in the last term, but I recommend them to practise and remember all the vocabulary.

Els estudiants tenen deures per realitzar durant les seves vacances de Setmana Santa. No són obligatoris, el mateix que el trimestre passat,però jo els recomano per practicar i recordar tot el vocabulari.

Projects

The next week the students made some crafts about their projects: the spring and the dinosaurs. Have a look at the photos, all of them are wonderful!They did a good work!

"La passada setmana els estudiants van fer algunes manualitats sobre els seus projectes: la primavera i els dinosaures. Fes una ullada a les fotos, totes són meravelloses! Ells han fet un bon treball!"

Another song we are going to sing and dance during the next days is "hey brother". To make it easier, the students will have a paper with images of the lyric, so they will have to look at them to do the actions.

Una altra cançó que cantarem i ballarem durant els pròxims dies és "hey brother". Per fer-ho més fàcil, els estudiants tindran un paper amb imatges sobre la lletra, per tant ells hauran de mirar-les per fer les accions.

The new project

Yesterday we finished the unit of the animals in the farm, the food and the actions. For this reason, the pupils did a test and all of them showed that they have understood all the things we have been studying during this term. The next week we are going to start a new topic, but this time the students chose the theme. 

Ahir vam acabar el tema dels animals de la granja, el menjar i les accions. Per aquesta raó, els estudiants van fer un test i tots ells van demostrar que han entès totes les coses que hem estat estudiant durant aquest trimestre. La pròxima setmana començarem un nou tòpic, però aquest cop els estudiants van escollir el tema. 

All the students thought a topic and we had to choose the best one to carry out in the English classes. When they decided the theme, they had to think about what things they wanted to know during the next classes. By the end of the term, they will have learnt how to make a project in English and how to work in groups. 

Tots els estudiants van pensar un tema i van haver d'escollir el millor per dur-lo a terme a les classes d'anglès. Quan van escollir el tema, van haver de pensar sobre quines coses volien saber durant les pròximes classes. Al final del trimestre, ells hauran après com fer un projecte en anglès i com es treballa en grup.

The topic of the group A (Monday - Wednesday) is the dinosaurs. However, the other class, the group B (Tuesday - Thursday), they have chosen the spring. Both themes are very interesting to study in the English classes; for this, they are going to listen to some stories, carry out some activities and crafts and sing and dance some songs. 

El tòpic del grup A (dilluns - dimecres) és els dinosaures. Tanmateix, l'altra classe, han escollit el de la primavera. Ambdós temes són molt interessants per estudiar a les classes d'anglès, per això, ells escoltaran algunes històries, duran a terme algunes activitats i manualitats i cantaran i ballaran algunes cançons.

The Enormous Carrot

The enormous carrot is the story that the students are going to represent in the English class the next day. They are going to be the animals in this drama and they will need to pull, pull and pull to catch the enormous carrot! It won't be an easy work, but they are going to try it!

"La pastanaga gegant és la història que els estudiants representaran a les classe d'anglès el pròxim dia. Ells hauran de ser animals en aquest teatre i necessitaran estirar, estirar, estirar i estirar per agafar la gegantina pastanaga! No serà una feina fàcil, però ells ho intentaran!"

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children's picture book designed, illustrated and written by Eric Carle. It features a caterpillar that eats its way through a wide variety of foodstuffs before emerging as a butterfly. 

"L'eruga famolenca és un llibre amb imatges per nens i nenes, il·lustrat i escrit per Eric Carle. Aquest mostra una oruga que menja pel seu camí una varietat de menjars, abans de convertir-se en una papallona". 

This story is used to review the food vocabulary, and some grammar structures like "he was still hungry". For this reason, during the next week, the students are going to listen to this storytelling in the English classes and they are going to watch a video with the illustrations of Eric Carle. 

"Aquesta història és utilitzada per repassar el vocabulari del menjar i algunes frases gramaticals, com "ell continuava estant famolenc". Per aquesta raó, durant la següent setmana, els estudiants escoltaran aquesta història a les classes d'anglès i veuran un vídeo amb il·lustracions d'Eric Carle".
